on silicon valley they invent a sort of way to store/compress files that sounds alot like blockchain to me, even though i have no grasp on how block chain really works either. i get that its a tv show, but truth is stranger than fiction so maybe its allready out there. basically all the users of thier app share chunks of like data. so i think of services like tile, if you've heard of that. its a network of users that are all access points to store, or in tile's case, a company that makes little tracking devices for things like your car keys, access points to locate your tile. now i dont have access to actually view your tile device, but the app makes note of those tiles and the more people that are in proximity, the more accurate and likely you are to be able to retrieve your lost item.

you lose your key with the tile on it. you send a signal, from your phone with the app to put out a beacon to find it. Now the tile network, everyone who has the app on thier phone is alerted to reach out for your unique tile. users dont know, this is all done in the background, but its the easy way off calling everyone you know and asking if they've seen your keys. hopefully, at least one person is close and a ping will show on your map where exacttly your keys are. i think im still mostly wrong on how this works, but heres my point. er, not a point, but my observation.
on silicon valley, peoples photos, videos, whatever are sliced up in to millions of tiny components, amd rather than being stored all in one devices, each tiny snippet goes to other users of the app and your thing that is data is spread across a huge network of users and the more people there are, the smaller the unique data chunks can be all but elimenating the need for storage space. kinda like voltron on a massive scale. i get the storage side of the theory, but how would you call on all the individual pieces of the preverbial pie, across a world of users, and have all those tiny packets come to you in an instant to make your big huge voltron? there would have to be servers that host the tiny chunks as well. this
this is a dumb, for sure the dumbest ramblingest piece of garbage ive written on here i cant believe i was going to pay for word press when this is the horse excrement that falls out of my brain. if i had half a brain id be smart enough to throw my computer out the window and hurl myself in front of a frieght train, but that would never work because im too stupid to know the difference between bear tracks and train tracks so id get eaten alive while i wait for the train.
