today is another day where i dont quite know what to write.  ive had a screwed up gross fungusy big right toe toenail since about 2001.  i remember when it started.  i was laying bricks a year or two out of high school at the time.  it was actually right around halloween, because i remember the house we were working on was very close to the house i grew up in, and i thought it to be somewhat ironic or at least quirky that i was rebuilding a chimney on a or about halloween at a house i had trick or treated at probably half a dozen times as a young child.
its wierd that i can remember that sort of detail.  strange things spark memories.  senses have something to do with it, but also linking, like this house and its proximity to a kind-of holiday and specific activities of my youth.  very often, well, not so often anymore becaus ei typically listen to podcasts when im driving now, but for a while i was listening to a lot of stand up comedy on Pandora.  pandora, if you arent familiar, is basically a free app that you can enter a suggestion of what youd like to hear, and it will just keep playing similar things forever in a shuffle or random order.  so as i drove, id listento alot of stand up comedy acts.  eventually, they started repeating, not in any specific order, but when id hear jokes that id heard before, sometimes id instantly remember where i was the last time i had heard it.  very strange, a joke about apples that im listeneng to on webber parkway, would trigger the memory of the last time i heard that particular joke as i drove the lowry tunnel.  it happened a lot.  songs do it too, but spokenn word stuff seems to be way more of a marker.  its kind of like a really crappy unpredictable time machine that takes you back to places you werent trying to be at in the first place.  i bet if i ever bothered to listen to podcast more than once it'd happen too.  but i listen to them at 1.5x speed so that might muck up the space/time continoum,  i cant spell continuom, but you get what i mean.
oh, i'll write about the toe later.  i dropped a brick on it and it smashed and bled inside my tennis shoe, (no steel toe). it healed bad and has been disfigured and yellow ever since.  i guess there isnt much to tell.  my wife likes digging around under the nail with a file and that grosses me out but i figure it might help heal it and hey, if it makes her happy.....
